How to Make: RICE

Whats up guys! Welcome back to another "How To post." Today we are tackling rice and let me tell you, this is something I struggled hard with. Knowing how to cook rice is so essential for so many dishes. You can pair it with almost anything, its a great carb option and it's fairly inexpensive to afford. I'm going to show you how to make 3 types of rice. We're going to tackle white rice, short grain white rice, and brown rice. So whatever type of rice you prefer I got you covered with all the basics. Here's the full recipe for all the 3 types down below. 

White Rice

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white long grain rice
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1¾ cups water
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

In a small pot, add 1 tablespoon butter or oil.

Add the rice and a pinch of salt, and saute for a minute. Add hot water to pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Once it boils add the lid to the pot and turn the heat to simmer. 

Cook for 18 minutes.

Remove from the heat and let steam with the lid on for 10 minutes.

Enjoy!

Short-Grain White Rice

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup short-grain white rice
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1¼ cups water
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

In a small pot, add 1 tablespoon butter or oil.

Add the rice and a pinch of salt, and saute for a minute. Add hot water to pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Once it boils add the lid to the pot and turn the heat to simmer. 

Cook for 15 minutes.

Remove from the heat and let steam with the lid on for 10 minutes.

Enjoy!

Brown Rice

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown short grain rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions: 

In a small pot, add 1 tablespoon butter or oil.

Add the rice and a pinch of salt, and saute for a minute. Add hot water to pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Once it boils add the lid to the pot and turn the heat to simmer. 

Cook for 45 minutes.

Remove from the heat and let steam with the lid on for 10 minutes.
